This post continues my Luedtke-Rice family research by looking at John Sloan, a working genealogy ancestor connected to the Sloan, McGowan, McCabe, and O’Neal family lines. John Sloan is currently recorded in my notes as born in May 1820 in County Down, Ireland, and as dying on 1 August 1900 in Washington Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, USA. These details should be treated as working genealogy unless they are supported by specific records, citations, or source images.

The current relationship path being studied is: John Sloan → father of Rosamund Sloan → mother of Annie McCabe → mother of John McCabe → father of Lester McCabe → father of Doug O’Neal → father of Jeremiah O’Neal. Related people in this research include Ann McGowan, listed as spouse, and Rosamund Sloan, listed as child. This line may help researchers follow migration from Ireland to Pennsylvania and then into later documented family connections.
