Canadian Records Through Rice, Bair, and Baum

On April 30, 2026, at 3PM, I am reviewing my possible Canadian citizenship-related record path through several connected family lines. The working path begins with me, Jeremiah, then goes to my mom, then to my mom’s parents, and then back through Percy Wayne Shapley, born in 1901 in Floyd, Iowa, and Minnie Schlorf, born March 1, 1905, in Chicago, Cook County, Illinois.

The line then continues through William Ira Shapley, born October 10, 1871, in Jackson County, Minnesota, and Olive Gertrude Stafford, born April 30, 1876, in Calamus, Wisconsin. From there, the research continues to Henry Shapley, born April 10, 1846, in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan, and Mary Rice, born February 1849 in Iowa. This creates an important bridge into the Rice family line.

The key Canadian record lead in this chain is Ira Foster Rice, born in 1805 in Charlotteville, Norfolk, Ontario, Canada, with his wife Kezia Bair, born in 1810 in Pennsylvania. The line also points toward John Christopher Bair, born October 11, 1769, in Mount Pleasant, Westmoreland, Pennsylvania, and Susanna “La Baum” Baum, born in 1776 in Huntingdon County, Pennsylvania. I am using this page to organize the records carefully: https://luedtkerice.j03.page/records-canadian-citizenship.html
