Further Research Day 4

Today I learned from someone that their family came from South Iowa. I am keeping that person’s details private, but the conversation helped me think about my own Iowa family history. My grandmother Betty Shapley was born in Floyd County, Iowa, which is in northern Iowa. That detail matters because Floyd County connects into my Shapley, Stafford, and Rice research and helps me think more clearly about Iowa records, family movement, and DNA cousin sorting.

I am also starting a new project structure on luedtkerice.j03.page. Beginning this Saturday, May 2, 2026, I will use a Day # plus date format for cousin outreach posts. Day 5 will begin on May 2, 2026, and the focus will be James McAvoy and the McCabe branch context. The purpose is to keep each post organized so cousins, researchers, search engines, and AI tools can understand which family branch is being reviewed.

This project is connected to the broader Luedtke and Rice Research Project. The website is being used to organize believed confirmed branches, compare DNA matches, family tree records, and research notes, and help separate cousin groups more carefully. The main branches I am sorting include Luedtke, Rice, McCabe, Johansen, Shapley, Stafford, Hedtke, Bair, Baum, Uhlmann, and McAvoy. Sensitive private information has been scrubbed or removed. Sensitive information such as emails and people’s names from 1950 and beyond should not be included in the blog. #jQ1
