Today I applied for two federal technology positions: a Computer Assistant position and an Information Technology Specialist position. These federal IT job applications are part of my larger career goal of moving forward in information technology, cybersecurity, user support, system troubleshooting, technical documentation, and federal service. The Computer Assistant position connects with my experience supporting users, printers, laptops, school technology systems, access requests, web content, and day-to-day technology operations.
The Computer Assistant role also stood out because it relates to IT asset management, hardware and software support, accountability, maintenance, troubleshooting, and restoring normal operations. I have spent years helping staff and students solve technology problems, and I am continuing to show how school-based technology support experience can transfer into a federal IT environment. The Information Technology Specialist position is also important to me because it points toward my long-term path in cybersecurity, computer support, network services, and government technology work.
I am also continuing to study for the CompTIA Security+ exam, which I plan to take in 2026. I already have a Master of Science in Cybersecurity, but Security+ can help show practical cybersecurity knowledge, certification readiness, and commitment to professional development. Today was another step forward in my federal job search, cybersecurity career path, IT support experience, and long-term goal of building a stronger future in information technology.
