Ruanna Hamilton TG463829 and the Smith-Hamilton-Marlow Working Genealogy Branch

Today I am continuing the Luedtke-Rice research by focusing on Ruanna Hamilton TG463829, a working genealogy ancestor connected to the Smith, Hamilton, and Marlow family lines. The current research base places Ruanna Hamilton as born on 27 Jul 1827 in Gnadenhutten, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and dying on 19 Feb 1908 near Monegaw Springs, St. Clair County, Missouri. She is connected as the spouse of John Isaac Smith, who was reportedly born on 18 Feb 1821 near Pittsburgh, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, and died on 7 Dec 1916 in Wray, Yuma County, Colorado.

This branch is still being treated as working genealogy. The research path includes Ruanna Hamilton as the child of Thomas Cleophas Hamilton and Sarah Elizabeth Marlow. Thomas is listed as born on 1 Feb 1784 in Lincoln County, North Carolina, and Sarah Elizabeth Marlow is listed as born in Feb 1799 in Prince George’s County, Maryland. One location note needs care: the earlier wording “Gnadenhutten, North Carolina, Ohio” appears to be a confused place entry, so the working location should be checked against original records for Gnadenhutten, Tuscarawas County, Ohio, and any possible Washington County, Ohio conflict.

The important relationship path being studied is: Ruanna Hamilton -> mother of Albert Franklin Smith -> father of Archie T. Smith -> father of Noma Vade Smith -> mother of Doug O’Neal -> father of Jeremiah O’Neal. This path should not be overstated until the Archie T. Smith and Noma Vade Smith connection is confirmed with stronger records.
