Helping, Hiking, and Securing My Future

Yesterday (March 22, 2025), I helped Pastor Kurt from 1st Lutheran Church move from his old place to his new home. We shared meaningful conversations about critical issues facing San Diego, especially regarding efforts to assist the needy in our community. We enjoyed Subway sandwiches along with traditional Lutheran cookies and donuts. If you haven’t seen it yet, my devotional booklet is available here.

Afterward, my mom and I celebrated my early birthday with delicious cake, ice cream, corned beef, brisket, cabbage, and rolls. Opening presents was wonderful—I received premium-quality everyday shoes, hiking shoes, a jacket, and a hood. Today, these new hiking shoes helped me summit Cowles Mountain in just 35 minutes. My final gift was Aura, an all-in-one identity protection platform, where I’ve securely uploaded important documents like my Lutheran baptismal certificate and first paycheck. Aura’s dark web monitoring has already detected several breaches involving my personal information. Lastly, Josh Rincon, an expert in business, finance, and economics, emphasized that cybersecurity roles are booming, recommending earning a CompTIA Security+ certification, mastering TCP/IP, firewalls, encryption, and pentesting, practicing on Hack The Box and TryHackMe, gaining internship experience, and attending cybersecurity events. Bonus tip: Learning AWS or Azure skills can significantly boost your career!
