Progress, Certifications, and Cybersecurity Goals — June 24, 2025

Today was a focused and productive day in my cybersecurity journey. I started the morning with a 40-minute jog and a 45-minute workout on the stair climber at EoS Fitness. After that, I made my way to the library and settled in at R84BB542C-T2Phal-002-248 to work on certification prep and job readiness.

One of my main goals today was to continue preparing for the CompTIA Security+ (SY0-701) exam. I watched Video 77 from Professor Messer’s series, which focused on hardening targets — a key concept in systems security. I took detailed notes covering topics like endpoint hardening, patch management, SCADA isolation, embedded systems, IoT segmentation, and real-time operating systems.

I also ran an analysis of the job market using a spreadsheet I created. It helped me identify the most common blockers in cybersecurity hiring: Secret or Top Secret clearance, Security+, CySA+, and MCSE certifications. I simplified the results into a visual chart showing which credentials appear most often in listings.

The combination of fitness, focused learning, career planning, and outreach made today a solid step forward.
