I made major progress today on both the cybersecurity job search and Security+ SY0-701 prep. I submitted applications to over 10 positions, including roles like:

• Solutions Engineer – Cyber Security at DeleteMe
• Network Analysis – Engineering at MITRE
• Cybersecurity Specialist at Tactical Engineering & Analysis
• Senior Systems Analyst-Programmer and IT Support Specialist with San Diego Unified School District

These positions align with my cybersecurity and systems administration background, and I’ve tailored my resume to match each one. I’m excited to see what responses come in.

In parallel, I reviewed Professor Messer’s Security+ 701 video on backup strategies. Key takeaways:

• Backups should be encrypted, stored offsite or in the cloud, and tested regularly.
• Snapshot backups (like in VMware or Hyper-V) let you roll back an entire system. A full snapshot might capture 100GB; the next only adds the 40GB of changes.
• Best practices include taking daily, weekly, or hourly snapshots depending on data sensitivity.

This dual-focus—studying cybersecurity while applying to top roles—keeps me sharp and steadily advancing.
