AWS, Capacity Planning, and New Job Applications

Today, I spent time reviewing Capacity Planning (3.4) from Professor Messer’s Security+ SY0-701 course. The lesson centered around aligning infrastructure, technology, and workforce to match real-world demand. Whether it’s managing a call center, web servers, or databases, capacity planning ensures that organizations avoid both underutilization and system strain. One interesting takeaway was the contrast between traditional infrastructure and cloud services — while physical systems require hardware setup, cloud solutions like Amazon Web Services (AWS) simplify this with virtualized resources available in just a few clicks. For anyone looking to grow in cloud knowledge, I highly recommend this AWS certificate program offered by San Diego Continuing Education:

In addition to studying, I applied to four IT and cybersecurity roles today. These include positions with Acuity International, Identified Talent Solutions, Solar Turbines, and Joint Tactics and Technologies. Salary ranges for these jobs are very competitive, and one requires a Secret clearance, which I’m looking into acquiring. I’ve also been maintaining physical wellness . Between technical study, job applications, and wellness tracking, this week’s focus remains balanced. My next steps include further training in AWS and consistent prep for the Security+ exam.
