Cybersecurity, Hiking, and Job Applications

Today, I hiked Cowles Mountain, reaching the summit in 32 minutes and taking 40 minutes to descend. Hiking not only strengthens my body but also clears my mind, helping me focus on cybersecurity learning and job applications.

After my hike, I reviewed Indicators of Compromise (IOCs) and network segmentation while watching Professor Messerโ€™s Security+ videos. Some key takeaways:

  • IOCs include unusual file access, unauthorized login attempts, and unexpected system changes.
  • Network segmentation improves security by limiting access, isolating critical systems, and reducing attack surfaces.
