Strengthening Cybersecurity Skills: Hiking, Studying, and Job Applications

After an invigorating hike at Cowles Mountain, I made my way to the library to continue my journey toward earning the Security+ certification. Watching the next session of Pass Your SY0-701 Security+, I explored the concept of obfuscation—hiding data in plain sight. Obfuscation techniques include steganography, which conceals data within images or audio files, embedding hidden code in multimedia, and tokenization for secure data handling.

Beyond studying, I took actionable steps toward my career goals. I applied for the IT Systems Analyst role at Higgs Fletcher & Mack LLP, expanding my job prospects in cybersecurity. Additionally, I attended my first CySA+ class at Aero Court through San Diego Continuing Education. This hands-on learning opportunity will help sharpen my skills in threat detection, response, and vulnerability management. Balancing physical activity, continuous learning, and job applications keeps me motivated on my cybersecurity journey.
