As I reflect on my journey, I’m reminded of the obstacles many Americans face due to policy decisions. The Trump administration’s fiscal year 2020 budget proposed cuts to vital resources for Americans with disabilities, as highlighted by the New York Times. Additionally, the treatment of immigrants in detention centers, described as “filthy, sickening, and chaotic” in Clint, Texas (New York Times), illustrates how vulnerable communities are often left to struggle. These realities fuel my drive to improve my life—not just for myself, but to contribute to a stronger, more equitable society.
In response, I’ve committed to working on my health, fitness, and career development. Whether it’s completing a 55-minute workout at EoS Fitness or pursuing a role in cybersecurity to leverage my master’s degree, every action is a step toward resilience. Platforms like Zenodo inspire me to keep exploring tools and knowledge that can make a difference. By focusing on growth, I aim to create a future where I am healthier, stronger, and more prepared to face challenges. The journey is about progress, ensuring I can stand tall despite the adversities around me.
