This week has been incredibly productive. I set up my Notion.so account to organize job applications and configured a VPN to keep my cybersecurity skills sharp. A $20 one-month subscription to ChatGPT has proven invaluable for streamlining these tasks, particularly in creating a job tracker that simplifies monitoring my applications. My background in technology includes a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology Management (2009) and a Master of Science in Cybersecurity with a specialization in Ethical Hacking and Pen Testing (2023), both from National University. Professionally, I’ve worked at Rosa Parks Elementary as a Robotics Instructor since 2017 and previously contributed to IT projects at Mission Bay High School and Washington Elementary, such as rebuilding voicemail systems and automating student computer updates. My hands-on experience also includes developing an Intrusion Detection System, documented here, and designing an RFID reader, detailed in this video.
Looking ahead, I plan to intensify my job search by exploring platforms like Monster.com and refining my resume to better match job requirements. AI tools like ChatGPT have greatly simplified aligning my resume and cover letters with specific roles, boosting my confidence in securing a position in cybersecurity or IT. This blog has been a valuable tool for reflecting on my journey and recognizing my potential. If you’re navigating a similar path, what tools or strategies have been most effective for you?
