The journey to my first cybersecurity job is in full swing, and I’m excited to document my progress. After earning my Master of Science in Cybersecurity from National University in San Diego in November 2023, I’m ready to turn my education into action. I’m particularly interested in government cybersecurity roles, which I believe align with my skills and career goals. However, I’m still exploring whether I meet the qualifications for these positions. To maximize my chances, I’m taking a strategic approach. First, I’m revisiting my cybersecurity coursework to ensure my resume reflects every skill and concept I’ve mastered. I’m also using AI tools like Jobscan to tailor my applications for the five specific cybersecurity roles I’ve targeted. To strengthen my qualifications, I’m researching certifications like Security+, which could give me a competitive edge in the job market. By combining AI-powered tools, strategic planning, and ongoing learning, I’m building a strong foundation for success in the cybersecurity field.
